Kalashnikov Seeds | Russian-Bred Cannabis Genetics & Express Strains

Kalashnikov Seeds was founded by a group of old-school growers and Soviet army veterans who have been breeding cannabis in Russia since 2002. Headquartered in the Kuban region near the Black Sea, the team also collaborates with partners in Saint Petersburg and the Far East. Their genetics are built around crosses of AK-47 clones with Russian, Eastern European, and Afghani landrace strains.

Commercial seed sales began in 2013, and Kalashnikov Seeds quickly gained recognition across the post-Soviet cannabis market. Today, their seeds are available in multiple European countries, with continued expansion into new regions.

After years of experimentation, the company developed its distinctive “Express” line alongside feminized and autoflowering seeds. Express strains are not autoflowering, but they enter flowering faster than standard photoperiod feminized plants and are typically ready for outdoor harvest around two weeks earlier.

Kalashnikov Seeds aims to demonstrate that Russian-bred genetics can compete with – and often outperform – established Dutch and Spanish seed banks. The brand actively participates in international cannabis expos and continues to expand its presence across Europe.
